    Mushroom time-------------- or is it?

    Mushroom Magic

I saw a photograph of beautiful appetizers.--
    What looked like mushrooms were
hard boiled eggs with tomato halves placed on top to mimic mushroom caps
and pieces and bits of cheese to create speckles.

I was planning to show you the photo of this great looking tray of goodness
but I lost the image somewhere in and amongst the w.w.w. (know what I mean?)

I look forward to making these adorable appetizers.

(Note: I think this variety of mushroom in the "real" world is poisonous.)

    Lately...

    I've been enjoying:

    Iced Teas
    Green Tea
    Peppermint Tea
    & my all-time-favorite, Licorice Tea.
Reminds me to purchase Passion Fruit Tea
located @ T.J.'s (big bag variety.)

    I've also been enjoying:

Grilling meats and vegetables:BBQ'd Portabella mushrooms
and made warm Pannini's (sp?) sandwiches with
fresh pesto and grilled onions and
    melted garlic jack cheese.)

    I've been enjoying:

    Waking up early.
Enjoying fresh ground dark roast coffee in the morning.
Delighting with berries and mango and nuts for breakfast.
    Preparing summer salads.
    Getting physically fit.
Lifting weights and rowing and cycling @ 24 hour fitness center.
Riding my bike by the river.
Walking around downtown and residential areas.
Introducing myself to all styles of new music from the w.w.w. (T.Y.,wireless!)
Watching movies on a laptop computer a.k.a. movie machine.

Saw "The Last King of Scotland" last evening. Loved it! Intense!
I highly recommend it. It's extremely violent
but undoubtedly one of the best
    suspense movies I've ever experienced.

I could foreshadow terrible follies that were going to happen
throughout the film. Making one think to them selves or out loud,
    "NO!, don't do that!"--and...then....of course...."they" do it! ;0(
This film was full of all sorts of realistic "scary"
    Fantastic sound track.
    I felt
    James McAvoy who's character portrayed
Idi Amin's personal physician, deserved higher praise and acclaim
I thought his performance was phenomenal.
Forest Whitaker did an excellent job portraying Idi Amin, no
doubt. Forests acting ability is incredible and with his skill Forest honed in
Idi's bizarre behaviors and created a very believable

    Amin; A character easy hated.
    BUT.....

    .....from my stand point,

I felt James McAvoy acting role shone above Forest's.

    ..................Back to main theme......................

    I've also been enjoying:

    Journaling
And I look forward to doing more fine art and photography
and fixing up my studio space, and gardening.
    and setting up a web cam. (I got one!) Don't know that I'll use it though;
    Believe it or not--I'm a shy-extrovert.

There are still a few things I feel I'm missing out on. (family)
I need to be in touch with mine, and I'd love to have my own-- but all in all,
spoiled is as spoiled does. (have I mentioned I'm a native American?)

I'm proud of my American heritage but hate what's happening
with our politics; What else is new? (Don't
    even get me started...)

    What have you been enjoying?

Soap Time..No Day Time Drama..Just soap and a little: MORE more more..Howd'ya like it?..howd'ya like it? More more more.....

Remember that tune? Who sang that song?

    ---ACTIVE INGREDIENTS---

Me and my pony alongside soap & spirit.

Today I'm playing with Adobe Photoshop's "Stroke" selections. (SEE!)

Unfortunately I clicked on the 'magnetic selection tool' and
forgot how to get out of that mode. (DROVE ME CRAZY!)
Once you find yourself in magnetic mode, the cursor
    doesn't click things off
    anywhere in the program.
One gets stuck in a swirly cycle of spiderweb-
    spinning hell.
Then.....somehow.......I right clicked my mouse and was able to escape. (Relief!)

Tech. talk time: I have a brilliant Keystroke, short cut,
for making your brush larger or smaller
    while in Adobe Photoshop.
Press either your left or '[{'right bracket'}]' key to enlarge or minimize.

HUGE short cut. When I discovered this it was a Eureka! moment.

Note: Only four varieties were located at Trader Joe's; I'm going to ask T.J.'s to order more.
They are less expensive at TJ's.

I just discovered these incredibly fragrant and fresh smelling soaps at Trader Joe's.
Above is a sample of Wild Rose and Lavender. I've been using two others: Verbena
(Lemony aroma) and Green Tea scented.

Before I put the bars of soap to use, I had them tucked alongside
the bottom of my desk area in a paper sack.
I noticed a wonderful fresh aroma wafting around and realized the soaps were the source.
They work better than scented candles...and are safer too. ;0)

I wonder if I'll get sick of such aromatic richness? That ever happen to you?
You find a scent you just fall in love with only to find out that a year
or two later you've been overdosed?

Certain scents and tastes bring back memories for me.
Such as Sandal Wood scented soap; I still love the fragrance and it

reminds of my mom helping me put together my first apartment.
As we looked for inexpensive items at Cost Plus,
my mom purchased a dozen Sandal Wood soaps for me; A whole box!
I still enjoy the aroma of sandal wood. (Thanks Mom)

Do you think that little French cottage was made for human occupants?
That would make an adorable tool shed or garden sculpture.
How about a miniature bird house/bird bath with water bath on top?

Remind me to show you two miniature bird house/bathes
I took pictures of when I was fortunate enough to travel to Italy.

New retro lamps have been planted in the neighborhood.
    Yes!

See the (Approx 7' x 9') portion of dirt that needs some love and attention?

Have any ideas of what I should plant there? The day before the workers came to
dig up everything (I didn't know they were coming)I was going to put in basil and other
herbs. I'm so happy I procrastinated that job; It would have been torn out.

See, sometimes procrastination can be a good thing.

I'm thinking something like a very natural English garden look.
The area receives morning light, but is shaded most of the day by a huge canopy of trees.

I would love suggestions please. I've more landscape to plow in the front of the house and

A back yard area that has huge potential. I'll show you those spots another time.

Be it that your world is what you make it to be.

    WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO YOU?

    BE CREATIVE

Mexican images captured on my next to last day in Mexico.

    Sometimes it's good
to wake up before the sunrise
    and
    walk alone.

This might sound strange to you
    but
one of the things I most enjoyed while traveling in Mexico
was all of the exposed electrical wiring.

    I didn't
'see' it until I took the opportunity to walk the Mexican streets alone.
    I found quiet solitude.
No flurry of streets full of fun-seekers dressed in finery to flip-flops.

Just the cool, morning, light and vendor's taking care of local natives
with fresh bread and fruit and grilled meats and tortillas.

I love to people watch of course
but being solo I was able to sniff out new sources of stimulation.
Peek down alley ways and enter courtyards with no interruptions.
Check out cracks in the side walk and literally stare into holes in the walls.
    (examples to come)

I guess I was able to act "loco" and nobody noticed or cared.
    I had complete freedom.
Fulfillment. Enjoyment. Wrapped in the pleasure of no time.
Saturation of all of the senses with no defenses.

    Ahhhhhhh......yes....yes....yes!

    Mexico's Caribbean Playground, Playa Del Carmen.....Ola, Marco and Polo.....Physical Anomalies.....Oh, the Humanity!.....Tangent Time.....Enron Shmenron......

Marco, and his black lab, Polo.
Can ya diggit? -- Polo can.
    Check out Polo's sandy nose.

Marco, is just another example of the terrible deformities that can afflict poor countries.
    --Well, actually, all countries.

My heart went out to him.
Why is it that doctors and society just don't
seem to care enough to help out the grotesque and malformed?
Just another example of the need for universal health care everywhere.
    Makes me so sad.

Here is one more example of poor Marco.
I think one can tell how terribly delicate and disabling Marco's disease really is.
Someone with any kind of humanity and sympathy can tell that Marco is fighting
    the pain
    of his physical misfortunes.

Thank goodness Marco has the love
    and
affection and companionship of his dog, Polo.

    Polo to the rescue!

Helping out a local maiden in distress.

Polo, is digging and sniffing around in search of the bathing suit top tugged off of the damsel in distress
that was stripped away from her chest by the strong Caribbean surf. (see "damsel in distress" background of image)

    What a cruel, cruel, dangerous, unforgiving world we live in;
Looks as though the maiden in the background also suffers from
freakish, irregular, oddities of the flesh.

(Go back to Marco, Polo! He needs your unconditional comfort, love and protection.)

    -------------------------------------------

    THE END

    ---------------------------------------

    Tangent Time:

It's fun to have fun. -BUT- In all seriousness, where is humanity?

So many needs not met in so many ways.
So many people, in so many countries, struggling for basic rights and medical treatment.

(I'm talking to you too, United States of America.)

What's up people? Too much self-consumed greed and corruption; false-values and materialism most....EVERYWHERE!

    -------------------------------------------------

Speaking of ($%*!#$*)....I highly recommend taking in the documentary
"The Smartest Guys in the Room." (click here for linkage)
regarding the melt down of Enron and other unsavory corporations.

Saw it last evening. (OH MY!)

I know the (above) news and movie have been out forever regarding Enron's Bull Shoosh, but being educated, and sharing the knowledge of such bad behavior is worth mentioning over and over again.

    Civil? Did you say civil?..
I spied the term once in a dictionary but where does it exist amongst humanity?

Let's not repeat this type of history. Eh? (aaaah, right; Makes me feel incredibly frustrated and powerless)

    But............

    .....Viva La Revolution!

    Revolution NOW....

    .......................baby!

Hey! I think I've just created myself an Avitar!

More Mexico! Going back in time...and 'Who the bleep is Jackson Pollock?'

Deep sea fishing off the coast of Mexico. This is one of my favorite photos of
the trip; My brother and my mom checking out the ocean view.

    You can't even imagine how

rich and beautiful and clear and lovely the water was/is.

The description of the salt water I just gave is not

evident in this picture. I hope you all get a chance to see
an ocean or sea like I was able to see some day.

    As you wish...

    The catch!

Our deep sea fishing trip was dedicated to
catching Blue Marlins, or White Marlins, or Black Marlins-- A.K.A. Swordfish to some.

    We had our lines out

but those incredible Marlins weren't very hungry.

    SO....before we headed to shore,
the captain and crew brought us to a place where we plunged our lines

to the bottom of the deep blue and captured some Rock fish.

    Yay!
    {Author's note: Need to read
Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea.
See what happens when you do a little research?....
One becomes enthused and impassioned with the abundance of life's subjects.

End of distractions & additional links--back to original post.
    }

    How gorgeous those fish are.

    But... (poor little fish)

    ...they sure were delicious!...

    and...

...became the main ingredient of my favorite meal in Mexico.

Enjoying the peace and solitude of a home made dinner.

Beyond exploring and scuba diving and checking out ancient ruins
and the colorful architecture and culture of the Mexican people.
The time spent prepping and preparing meals with my family and for the family was

one of the highlights of my trip.
    -------------

The best and finest meal I recall having during our trip
    was prepared at home
with family enjoying the fresh fish we had caught
deep sea fishing just hours earlier.
