Conversation Piece...Levi's with a flare. Daring is as Daring does. Dare to play and laugh and have fun. Life is short . Don't let regrets and resentments and remorse and grief get you down. K? Let's encourage each other....

    Levi's....

    Levi's...

    With
    a...

    TWIST!

My friend Brad has great energetic character and charisma.
He's a librarian and a ballroom dance teacher and speaks fluent German.
The  conversation between these two individuals was in German.
The gal he was speaking to was originally from Europe.
    Unfortunately I've forgetten her name;
She was a fascinating person to meet.

I wish I'd be disciplined to learn a language fluently besides English.

What languages can you speak or would love to be able to speak?

Basil...more to the story behind the herb that keeps on giving...An art space to die for!..An eclectic electric crowd. A common community full of creative spirit. Checking out the unconventional life-style of a loving family of fine artists.

Herb appetizers and gifts to the hosts.

These goodies are ready to travel to a special occasion.

Yes! A delightful converted barn in the country
becomes a meeting place for an evening spent amongst fine people.

Hand made lanterns created by family
and friends are hung along eves of this incredible space.

Fire pit and plenty of people enjoying the cool night air.

MORE pictures of this occasion to come.

    Nonsense prevails,

    What shall we do

Ready for some Breakfast Dessert Dinner and much, much more......

Found these cloth duo tone place mats and napkins the other day
and think they go perfect with the Mod. Dane. Table.
This table set is great because you can turn the place mats over and work with four other colors.
    Two for one special!

Just had to share with you my happiness and joy.
It doesn't take much to make me smile and feel good all over.

    Flower Power

    WHAT POTENTIAL this SPACE has!

Trucking in the goodness of a variety of colorful fragrant flowers.

Check out the huge potential this yard has to offer.

Where to begin? It's like a gigantic blank canvas
    ready to be worked upon.

    Nothing's set in stone,
but I wouldn't mind some stones ending
    up
    here and becoming part of
    a peaceful garden sanctuary.
With footpaths and fountains and rocks and
trees and flowers and vegetables and fruits......
    Oh, my....stop ME! ;0)

Some of the beautiful flowers I recently purchased
are going to be located on the top porch
and need to be transfered to larger pots - PRONTO!.

The plants in the picture above are now
    relocated on the top porch.
Though, I wouldn't mind having two large planters
by the front hand rails someday.

    Here is another picture of the area and the sidewalk I took awhile back;
The city temporarily filled in the cracks and crevices with UGLY black asphalt.

Sidewalk replacement is going to happen in the near future
    but I'm not sure when;
Most likely it will be dealt with within three to six months.
Until then the open dirt area has been covered
with bark and I wonder what I should do with it.
Should I wait to plant the that area?
I wonder if it might get tromped on by the city
when they come to finish the work.
I'm determined to plant some foliage in that location though.
I just may have to wait longer than I had wanted.

(Thanks, fellow e-journalists, Dan, A.K.A.: TIMESINK, and Anne, A.K.A.: rightbrainleftbrain, who recommended certain
varieties of vegetation and some great ideas my direction.
I can diggit! Get it? "dig it" HA! )

Also, can you spot those two small islands in the middle
of the road way far off in the distance?
I want to plant those areas as well.
Plus the corner section off to the right that's been covered with bark.

    {I NEED MORE HELP! ;0) Please.}

    It's fun to have fun.

Thanks for taking time out of your life to visit mine.

Live Model Drawing over the weekend. Spent three delightful hours drawing a fantastic model in an open figure drawing session at Terry Miura's ,12th & S Street Studio.

My fine, artist friend, Bruce, treated me to a session of
    live model drawing on Saturday.

    {THANK YOU, BRUCE!}

Break time for model and artists.

The model located in background of picture was outstanding. I got a chance to speak with her.
    She initiated our conversation by
complimenting me on my braid-wearing hair-style.
    (She sported braids as well.)

Along with this model's physical beauty
I found her inner beauty to exude sparks of kindness generosity and liberality.
This gal was a joy to work with and she posessed such a professional,
natural quality to her modeling. (I didn't catch her name.)

The two sketches you see in the foreground are Bruce's (left) and mine (center).

BRUCE, is a highly skilled, award-winning artist.
Plus he's an exceptional human being,
companion, and a devoted patron of the arts.

I was fortunate to meet Bruce years ago in a
Lithography/ Silk Screening print class located at Sacramento City College.

Artist's stretching and mingling amongst one another.

About ten artists showed up to draw and sketch and paint.

The live model drawing sessions are open to the public
and last for three hours with a minimal fee of ten dollars.

We stayed the whole three hours
which in 'artist's time' seemed like just one hour.

Reflecting on a few of my sketches; A portion of my day's worth of drawing.
(above: Digital photo collage manipulated via Adobe PhotoShop.)

    Mood: Feeling disciplined & accomplished;
Satisfied with choosing my time to be with a friend
    and
    fellow artists drawing
    and
sketching and producing what's in my heart - Love and Beauty & Life.

    LIFE! Live IT!

    Disciplined is as disciplined does.

DARE to be disciplined - You might like it.

Recent indulgences and new discovories of a the tasty type.

    Roses are red,
    licorice is black,
    this sugary-fine-confection
    is all just that.

    Rose Pastilles.

This is one of my infrequent but favorite indulgences.

Ever heard of them? Ever have them?
If yes to both queries - Do you like them?

More about these unusually fragrant somewhat bitter anise filled candies later.

    -------------------------------------------------

And I want to turn you on to my latest discovery:

    That's not all !

    - More to come later....

I've got to get moving my self in an upright and forward
    direction.

Got tings to do.....THEN I'll tell you more about
    Yoo-Hoo.

    In the meantime,
think about what your favorite indulgence(s)
past and present are or have been.

I'd like for you to share-it-on-over.

    Thank You,

Masking Tape Mania!!! Artist Danny Scheible

    INSTALLATION

Lots of time an effort went into this art piece. (ya-think?!)

    Meticulous is as Meticulous does.

    INCREDIBLE!

    Photos: Danny Scheible's Tapigami
    Photos
    Friday, 27 July 2007

Artist Danny Scheible spent about a month creating this installation made entirely of tape: regular masking and painter's tape. This major OCD project, which he calls "Tapigami," is located in Sacramento, California on 19th and K Streets in the alley in the basement of an office building apparently known as the Fools Foundation Gallery, though we couldn't find this project on their website, www.foolsfoundation.org. Danny sent us a few of his photos of the finished project.

plants and digital graphic that comes WAY to close to portraying my tween and teen nieces. They don't dress like that....at least not in public. Dress up happens!

    New Gardenia - First Gardenia

I could smell the aroma of this wonderful
white blossoming plant waft through the window last evening.

    Mmmmm...mmmm....good!

    I love nature.

Basil Plant Blooming in the sunrise.

The taste and aroma of basil is one of my favorites.

Can you say PESTO! I have a serious addiction to pesto.
It's great to pick off fresh leaves and chew 'em up.
One of nature's natural breath fresheners.

    and...

    A great appetizer.

Thinly sliced baguette slathered with Rondoulete (sp?)
    cheese Gorganzola blend.
Add sliced Roma tomatoes and olive oil (optional)

Top with basil leaf and a 1/2 black olive on each (not shown in my picture) and sprinkle garlic granules or fresh roasted garlic.

Have fun and experiment and add on a glass of grape juice
or a glass of real wine to help digest.

    Enjoy!

Found the above graphic on the web and was shocked
to see it resembles my adorable nieces dressed up like Kinder-hose.

Note: Kinder-hose ain't no German word neither.

    Thanks for peeping.
