July 07 Evidence of fun...(more)As I started my walk the other day the sight of this sleeping couple below startled me.

A tribute to a man nick-named, 'Gremlin'. The place of reflection (above) used to be easier to distinguish as place of honor rather than a pile of beer bottles and the like. A wooden cross bearing the name Gremlin is now buried underneath items left behind by well-wishers. I understand the significance and the good intentions of the individuals who've left kind mementos of remembrance, but this "special" marker of a life is looking more like a trash pile than an altar. Check out the trash bags piled up in the background. -What a coincidence - How ironic.

Focusing on my wet sandy feet. Next time I'll make sure my feet are dry before slipping on my thongs and heading back home. Though, from the sand grating the calluses off of my feet, I think I got a pretty good pedicure by the time I reached home.

Found this sign posted not too far away from where I live. Now I understand why I hear the Catholic Radio station bleeding into my phone line at home. Ever made a phone call to someone and they can hear Latin chanting in the background or be a part of a Catholic Church service describing how and why Pornography is a sin? -Welcome to my (land-line) world!-
Fun, whimsical graphic I like "merry and Gay" but come ON!.....??? This piece of advertising is cute, but a bit too HAPPY for me to swallow. Considering the subject matter. (Don't yah think?) That's my opinion and I'm stick'n to it.
July 06 A continuation from: More evidence of fun.7:07 A.M.-July 6th: Having total-recall of an event or what happens in one's daily life can be a test (treat) sometimes. The mini-hike adventure I took three days ago along the American River I remembered to take a pocket-sized note book along. I jaunted down ideas and notions and observations that came to mind and I also used it to put together a simple to-do list of things I needed to accomplish that day. My original intention was to get out to nature and take in its innate way. Because of something I had read, and because I was compelled to take in nature's resources. I find myself smitten and charmed and refreshed by the easy circumstances I let unfold. A big part of my essence has always been a nature-loving. I often thought (still think) being a national park ranger/guide would be a fantastic occupation to have. Yesterday, as I sojourned, I realized I had left my note pad at home. (Oh, dernz!) I was upset by my neglectful way, but then decided my "mistake" could be used in a positive way. - I could try to recall all of the momentary significant things which occurred and write them down when I got home. A great test for my memory skills. Or, maybe never write them down and just THINK about them. What a concept! ;0) |
