Also.... ....It's time to fetch those wool blankets from your linen closet... ....as.... .....fall is cascading from the mountain tops and down to the valley floor..... ...with... .....cool brisk autumnal breezes quaking parched summer foliage........ sloughing off leaves that sway downward like a soft silent snow. Hug your loved ones, and your animals, and your stuffed teddy bear friends as you retreat to slumber this evening. (Read a book for goodness sakes!) ....AS... .....tomorrow is not promised.... -jj September 29 Recap on my storage unit invasion....For all those concerned: (see previous post to understand the following conclusion.) Most all of my "cherished and sentimental" belongings are still with me. I don't expect the low-life's realized I was to arrive yesterday (fools!) as they had set up a yard sale next to my storage garage. As I walked around their sale looking at their goodie collection, of course I spied items that belonged to me. (Hah! Surprise...surprise!)....of course they had a "legit" reason for having my items for sale. WHATEVER!??? They gave them to me for 'free'.....how generous of them. I was polite to them in a very saccharin-sarcastic-way and as soon as I had everything out of my storage garage I called the cops to make 'em squirm. Such is life, and I am STILL a happy girl. Oh, yes I am! (Thank you, Universe.....
and poetjilly and Carol and Cree and others whom called and offered their kind-hearted-help.) Life is a joy!......SO.....enjoy it! Create a smile....... then send it off ....... so others may employ it. Good day! Thanks for taking the time to share the J Zone with me today. September 27 California State Capitol Buildings front yard bedroom..........Sacramento Homeless......11:00 PM September 26, 2008
She sleeps wherever she pleases. Sleeping underneath the stars, lamp posts and humankind shine above the man-made asphalt of the gridded Valley floor. Hot round slab of concrete conveniently made into a sound solid bed. She places her head on the cutting block and trusts that no one cares.....her feet lifted toward the midnight sky. Let her dreams fill her soul with quiet restful bliss as the nightmare of her life drifts away for a bit.
Author's notation: Had to take this picture last evening as I cruised in front of California's State Capitol building. I had just finished a great work out and as usual chose to drive down the capitol corridor checking out the aesthetically, lit, land mark building of the State Capitol. Off this subject... I find myself feeling a wee bit sick in spirit today as I am realizing (hopefully all will be okay) that some very personal, irreplaceable, music tapes I recorded of my vocals & lyrics may have been stolen. A lower life form cracked open my a storage unit and sifted through my belongings. Truthfully, I was feeling semi-okay with it all yesterday when I made face to face contact with the below-hill-billy-white-trash-meth-using-rednecks that CLAIM they were "helping" me out by reorganizing my personal possessions. Welp....the greatest thing of all is that I see these low-lifes didn't steal my families heirloom baby cradle. I am grateful and relieved about that situation. Truthfully, the cradle was/is all I cared about recovering. BUT............... of course I've had time to contemplate what's been added to my uneven pallet today and I'm hoping that the box of our families favorite childhood books is locateble along with my vinyl record album collection. We'll see.....eeeee...... I'm just pleased to be moving forward with relocating my JUNK and I'm going to try to weed my collection of possessions down to a fine, sorted core. Such is life. & I'll be okay with whatever is revealed after I breath in deeply and swallow the hurt and emptiness away. Can one really do that? - Swallow hurt and emptiness away? The answer is through forgiveness of yourself and others..... but this method can be hard to come by and takes a lot of work but can be done. Peace to you! Let it be.... Thanks for taking the time to enter my J ZONE today. I'll be shifting and packing hopefully not too many hours today. We'll see.....eeeee... Life is good. I'm a genuine road-dog.....I strongly advise you pick ME for your team. SMART thing! ~ Good-bye ~ September 16 Goodness prevailed - and the things in which time and love and honor could not add value to remained comfortable amongst familiar surroundings.Beyond Einstein's theories...
Mr. Goodykaatz smiled at the moon but chose not to entertain it. The moon stayed solid in the shimmering heavens and beamed light within her (Estrella's/Star's) loving and accepting heart. Out of the shadows I choose to move forward to share my love and gifts with others. Vows of aesthetic beauty reveal inner truths. A sampling of the meat and potatoes of mankind's spirit to feast upon. Just remember: Ethics before aesthetics. September 06 News: Celebrated Citrus Found Dead! Squeeze O.J. For other uses, see Citrus (disambiguation).
Citrus is a common term and genus of flowering plants in the family Rutaceae, originating in tropical and subtropical southeast Asia. The Latin word citrus was borrowed from ancient Greek kedros "cedar, juniper" probably through Etruscan. The Romans applied the word to several different trees with fragrant foliage or wood (compare the completely unrelated cedars)[1]. The taxonomy and systematics of the genus are complex and the precise number of natural species is unclear, as many of the named species are clonally-propagated hybrids, and there is genetic evidence that even some wild, true-breeding species are of hybrid origin[2]. Cultivated Citrus may be derived from as few as four ancestral species. Natural and cultivated origin hybrids include commercially important fruit such as the oranges, grapefruit, lemons, some limes, and some tangerines. Recent research has suggested that the closely related genus Fortunella (kumquats), and perhaps also Poncirus and the Australian Microcitrus and Eremocitrus, should be included in Citrus. In fact, most botanists now classify Microcitrus and Eremocitrus as part of the genus Citrus.[3]
September 04 Manipulations......Manipulating and cropping and enhancing chalk works that had already been manipulated by nature's sunshine and shadows.Beauty is as beauty does.
A digitally manipulated version of a fellow chalk artist's rendition of Botticelli's The Birth of Venus. First: Manipulated by nature's sunlight and shadow and leaves. Second: Taken through Adobe Photoshop and tweaked around with different hues, saturation, brightness and contrast. Above chalk illustration (previous to my playful tweaking) was created by an individual whom is part of the Natomas Arists group.
You can make it over to Italy to see this Botticelli & much, much more if you so desire. Same chalk image as above photographed more directly (not so much squashed, angular & slanted perspective.) My fellow artist & companion, 'J', noticed the wonderful natural sun light streaming down alongside Venus' delicate features. I captured the moment, and took the above image through Adobe Photoshop and used different color and saturation filters along with tweaking with the brightness and contrast.
Another photo manipulation of a fellow chalk artists portrait. First: Natural sunlight streamed across the chalked images eyes. Second: Taken into Adobe Photoshop and cropped and manipulated through various filters.
Hey, Tiger! -Won't you come out and PLAY ? Above chalk image was part of a larger Alice in Wonderland themed sidewalk drawing. Author's notation: I manipulated the heck out of it! and.... had gads of fun while doing it. Looks like wild kitty is jumping through a glowing, neon-green, ring-O- fire. (okay, now I'm humming that famous Ring of Fire tune in my head.... I bet you'll be singing this tune all day through as well.) (link) Johnny Cash- Ring of Fire 1968 (link) Bring into your world sensations of joy and love. AND..... ......remember to share it and show it. Smiling never hurt nobody. (well, maybe in certain circumstances....but, hey! I'm not the boss of your imagination.) The hurt that dwells inside you gives you no pleasure. Stay in the moment, and it'll sift away, and be parted into the celestial plane and be dispersed until it is demolished by universal radiation. (Ummmmm....I think I better be going now. Please don't quote me on the above dose of literature. I can't prove that it is a fact. -It just came to me within a nanosecond. It's now up to you and me to employ that advice.) ~ AND ~ Just remember.....YOU gotta take care O U. -jj Post Script: I'm sorry I was not able to properly note all of the artists names alongside their wonderful chalk works. I photographed many finished and unfinished chalk works during Sacramento's Chalk-it-up, Labor Day, Charitable Festival. September 03 Chalk IT Up......Swell Sister Society contribution......Having fun being creative and helping out local children through artistic integrity and a charitable donating spirit. In the beginning...
My fellow artist friend, M took a photo of her sister with a provocative pose and wild perspective.
M & L put their talents together creating a lovely, & finely detailed chalk drawing using their fingers and brush strokes to blend and highlight specific areas with great care.
O, and myself, filled in the rest of the logo design in with lots of pink.
Finished! Note: I'm headed out to take a better picture of this gal using a ladder for better perspective before the sun comes up over the horizon. Post Script: I've returned from the above noted trip with no luck. I missed the opportunity. The chalk drawings have been washed away by the parks sprinkler system. I did manage to take some great shots of the blending and fading the water made upon them.
I'm using the above image for my personal avitar. I plan to add this: http://www.swellsister.com/ to promote the Swell Sister Society. - A women Artist's Society. Have a fine day, and trust all that comes your way is meant to be. -jj
August 29 Random Life...A concentration of street photography....What comes to me.....What is to be seen....What is to be caught.....What ought to be shared..........What's shared with me, I share with you...... Let it come to you....... What is to be seen in this world...?
What is to be seen in yours?
The fellow riding the bike is an acquaintance of mine. He's 70-plus-years-old, & he's in outstanding physical shape. {Hop on you bikes sisters and brothers and start peddling!} Notice the cane stashed along the bike's frame? It won't have to be used soon, as this sporty gent will be getting his knee repaired.
Take time to find a spot of joy and interest in your life to share everyday. ...as a grown woman cooled off from the mouth of a jet -sprayed water-spout under the protective canopy of a shady tree.
She filled up a shoe and drank from it like it was champagne.
...slipped them shoes back on her feet and dispersed smiling-wide as she left the coolness of the wet, artificial rain. Smartest girl in town. What is street photography? A reflection of every day life – real, unaltered impressions of public places, places that everybody visits every day, the street where you live, the parking lot of your favorite grocery store, the subway. Street photographers document the truth and take candid pictures of things that you don't notice in your daily grind. Street photography involves attention to detail. The photographer pays attention to scenes, moments that you only recognize subconsciously. The camera is an unobtrusive extension of the eye in any given situation. Oftentimes, street photographers take pictures they feel; the photographer happens to be there and captures the mood in a fraction of a second. He freezes a moment that you will forget in the same amount of time... -Markus Hartel, Street Photographer
Walk'n down the road. "Hey! What you talk'n 'bout? I don't wear no uniform! I'm my own man! I walk down dis Avenue wi't my own two feet. I goes wherever I please. Don't be mess'in wi't me....girl!" On April 16th, a group of people stood on the train tracks in the direct path of an Amtrak train approaching the I Street Bridge over the Sacramento River, throwing rocks at the engineer. The engineer should have kept going, but instead, stopped the train. Lloyd Billingsley tells the story at Frontpage Magazine:
This didn’t hit the news except for a couple of articles at the Sacbee. It was the Broderick Boys, “a criminal street gang under a court injunction by Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig, who calls the gang “domestic terrorists.” (Billingsley, 2007) But the PC media frames the injunction against this group as a
racist policy that is unwarranted, conveniently eliminating any mention
of the Amtrak train incident, turning the Broderick boys into a group
of victims instead of a group of cruel assailants: (Read more here)
August 26 Film makers unite. Sacramento Film Festival Crest Theatre puts on a 10 X 10 Filmmaker Challenge, which gives directors 10 days to shoot 10-minute short films. ..Gatita Jazzabelle performs @ the MOULIN ROUGE in Paris, France10 X 10 Filmmaker Challenge, which gives directors 10 days to shoot 10-minute short films. Saw the above portion of the Sacramento Film Festival last week and happily watched someone whom invited me to the occasion act in one of the shorts. Sean, Co-owner of Midtown furniture, was featured in a black and white film that faired VERY well. It was a fun showing because curious art-loving patrons like myself were able to vote films up or down. Just a few picts taken the 10x10 evening.
Special performance by Jazzabelle Gatita! That little kittinskie , Jazzabelle can DANCE!!! Make's one feel as though they're located at the MOULIN ROUGE in Paris, France. MOULIN ROUGE (Official Site) Reservation/Booking (info. link here)

Hey! Jazzabelle's been introduced into your reality too.....(HAH!........Got YA!)} August 25 My Last Duchess............I'm up early again today, listening to the quite, still, morning, while happily sampling a ration of left-over homemade potato salad. (Thank you, Mom!) Recalling last evening's dinner fair, and time shared with my mother and her good friend, J. Menu: Grilled Alaskan salmon, seasoned with fresh basil, minced garlic, S&P, lemon & butter alongside grilled sweet corn and a variety of hand-picked, orange and red and yellow tomatoes interspersed with cucumber wedges and my mom's homemade potato salad. Not to forget wine and a new, refreshing drink my mom aptly named a 'Lemonita'. -Margarita's sister. The subject of conversation turned to this posed question, "Do we really own ourselves?" Voices opted around the table and thoughtful opinions were shared while my mother excused herself from the dinner table, and came back with two large books in her hands. She looked up a poem (which skips my mind at the moment) written about one man's life in 1945. The prose began with a man being born and numbers like 78528-45-67 assigned to his flesh in life. (I'll recall it later and share with you.) But...."Do you really own you?" Then................my mom looked up a poem, My Last Duchess, as she had seen a French made film, 'My Last Mistress' critiqued in the local entertainment section and it reminded her of the following poetry. And........what was even nicer than being exposed to such fine words of mankind, was the kind and precise way my mom read this piece aloud. (Thank you, mom!) Here's the poem my mother read: My
Last Duchess Note: Can you just imagine how vibrant and beautiful and lovingly alive and aware the Duchess was? -What a jealous, shallow, callous, self-serving man. Thanks for your time, and take care of everything that matters to you today. -Silently bless all those whom enter your day. See what will happen in your life if you do. -This simple, silent, act of love and goodness will take you to new levels.. -----Do it! Really do it!.............. you shall see....... -jenj ...........Post Script: I'm going back to bed now......feeling so pleased I can relocate my body into sleep-mode and rest my head upon a pillow. August 24 Disco Dancing Gatito. Disco dancing gatitas!!! Mikiegato, dances freely. Creemeowserz, rocks on. jenj, translates universal inner visions into a joyful jubulant cat illustration......Mikiemeow and Catree, gatita's ROCK.!!!!Disco dancing gatito Artist's Notation: digital illustration using Adobe illustrator 10 (Note:I had to use a 'funky' electronic mouse to draw with; - I normally use a Wacom Pen & pallet as I enjoy an implement in my hand.) My inspiration for this piece unveiled itself this morning after I was thinking about the "let's get physical and sporty" group of artist friends I was with last evening. Our original intention was to dance, and dance we did.....in a warm,well-lit pool. We shared parts of our lives, present and past and swimming and playing around in a colorful, salt water pool until twelve midnight! The pool blazed a multitude of colorful light as we/ I peered up into the dark night sky, the stars twinkled and winked back at us respectively through the flickering fingers of tropical palm tree fronds. YES! Thank you, Mikie.....thank you, Cree.....We are... (were last evening) ....sassy, self-confident women swimming in the open salt water sea of all opportunities. I'm grateful.....thank you universe!.......-jenj Jennifer Productions © 2008 All rights reserved. Click on illustrated thumbnail below to enlarge. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
